Tools for Advanced Data Analyses in Biology

Antepr TADAB workshop 2023The TADAB workshop aims at improving skills of the attendees concerning some of the advanced analytical tools for biological analyses. A theoretical basis will be provided to better interpret the output of the practical sessions. Topics of the lectures will span from indepth regression and machine learning analyses to coalescent models for species delimitation. The proper management and visualization of data will be also included. Ph.D. students will be the main target of this workshop. Nevertheless, researchers of all grades, post-doc, master and bachelor students will be welcome!

PhD DAYS: OCTOBER 18 and 23 - 2023

Students from the theanteprima OTTOBRE 2023 a Research Doctorate in Biology will present and discuss their projects during the "PhD days 2023"

   •  PhD (I°year) Research Project presentation : Wednesday 18 october 2023 - Aula Magna ex Presidenza, Polo Fibonacci, Largo Bruno Pontecorvo 3, from 14:00

   •  PhD (III°year) Research Project presentation: Monday 23 October 2023 - Aula Magna Palazzo Boileau, Via S. Maria 85, from 14:00

Anteprima Flyer DellAmicoWDR62 is a scaffold protein localized to the spindle poles during mitosis and involved in symmetric versus asymmetric cell division choices in neural progenitors during brain development. Pathogenic mutations of WDR62 account for the second most common of genetic primary microcephaly (MCPH2). The research conducted for this Ph.D. project used patient’s iPSCs, neural stem cell derivatives, cerebral organoids, and CRISPR-Cas9 technology to investigate the molecular basis of MCPH2 – enlightening the consequences of a specific WDR62 mutation, and more broadly contributing to a wider comprehension of WDR62-related MCPH pathological mechanisms.
