Dottori di ricerca del Dipartimento di Biologia premiati per le miglior tesi al congresso della Società Botanica Italiana a Gorizia
Diana Maria Cruz Tejada e Jacopo Franzoni, neo-dottori di ricerca in “Biology” dell’Università di Pisa, hanno vinto due dei quattro (uno per ognuno dei quattro settori disciplinari) “Premi Internazionali di Dottorato” conferiti annualmente dalla Società Botanica Italiana, rispettivamente per la miglior tesi in Botanica ambientale e applicata e in Botanica sistematica. Gli importanti riconoscimenti sono stati loro consegnati nel corso del 120° Congresso della Società in corso a Gorizia tra il 2 e il 6 settembre.

Bonpland Prize awarded to Biology PhD student Giorgio Vicari
Biology PhD student Giorgio Vicari was awarded the Bonpland Prize during the conference of the Italian Alexander von Humboldt Association "University Education", held at the University of Ferrara from May 29 to 31, 2025.
The award was jointly conferred in the scientific area for a project entitled "A Journey into the Hidden Biodiversity of Giannutri", aimed at uncovering the interactions between flowers and Apoidea on the island through pollen sampling from both plants and insects. The objective is to raise awareness of the importance of pollination networks and to enhance the value of the local ecological heritage.

Dialogues on Ethology and Behavioural Ecology
Within the seminar series of the DIALOGUES ON ETHOLOGY AND BEHAVIOURAL ECOLOGY, our fourth 2025 speaker will be Prof. Francesco Ferretti of the DSV - University of Siena. On monday the 26th 2025 at 15:30, Prof. Francesco Ferretti will be talking about “Interspecific differences in behavioural responses to predator recolonisation: ungulates, foxes and wolves in a Mediterranean area"
The seminar will be both online on the Teams platform and in presence in Room SR C, at the San Rossore complex in via Risorgimento, Pisa.
