The external Master's degree thesis can be carried out at:

• One of the following research institutions: Scuola Normale Superiore, CNR (Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche), Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna (agreement not required);
• Research institutions or companies located in Italy or abroad (public or private) (declaration needed);

In case the thesis is carried out in institutions or companies located in Italy or abroad (public or private), the host institution is required to sign a declaration (the declaration must be produced on the letterhead of the host institution and must necessarily contain the name of the legal representative, the details of the Student, the start and end dates of the stay, and the reason for the stay at the institution. The declaration must be dated and signed by the legal representative of the host institution).

Once the Student get the authorization, he/she can proceed with the agreement following these istructions.

Thesis performed within Erasmus + programme or other UNIPI international mobility programme do not require any agreement with the host institution.
